Giurista e letterato inglese, nato nel 1611 a Wraxhall (Dorset), morto il 18 marzo 1686.

Scrisse un'opera sul matrimonio, che ebbe molta rinomanza: Marriage by the moral lazw of God vindicated against all ceremonial laws of Popes and bishops, Londra 1680; quindi: The right of primogeniture in succession to the Kingdoms of England, Londra 1681; sulla sicurezza del sovrano e dei sudditi: The two great questions whereby in the present juncture of affairs the peace and safetV of his majesties person depend, Londra 1681.
