Rifkin, Jeremy. – Economista statunitense (n. Denver 1943). È il fondatore e presidente della Foundation on economic trends (FoET), nata nel 1977 per studiare l’impatto che le innovazioni scientifiche e tecnologiche hanno sull'economia, la società e l’ambiente. Considerato come uno dei maggiori analisti della società postfordista, è attivo come ambientalista e consulente per le politiche ambientali della Commissione e del Parlamento europei.
