Walken, Christopher

Attore cinematografico statunitense (n. Queens, New York, 1943). Interprete che, dotato di una recitazione lontana dall'identificazione psicologica propria dell'Actors' Studio che si accompagna alla sua figura slanciata e ascetica e a un volto scavato, dalla fine degli anni Settanta del Novecento  rappresentata nel cinema statunitense il perfetto antidivo.

Vita e opere

Dopo essere stato attore teatrale a Broadway, si è avvicinato al cinema già dalla fine degli anni Sessanta. Dopo ruoli di secondo piano in The Anderson tapes (Rapina record a New York, 1971), Next stop: Greenwich Village (Stop a Greenwich Village, 1976) e Annie hall (Io e Annie, 1977), ha raggiunto la notorietà con The deer hunter (Il cacciatore, 1978, premio Oscar), in cui ha messo in luce una recitazione istintiva nel disegnare personaggi morbosi e angosciati. Ha poi interpretato: Last embrace (Il segno degli Hannah, 1979), Heaven's gate (1980), The dogs of war (1980), Pennies from heaven (1981), The dead zone (1983), At close range (1986), Homeboy (1988), The Milagro beanfield war (Milagro, 1988), The comfort of strangers (1990), Batman returns (Batman.
